Lillian Giandolfo Presents Greenpoint Historical Postcard
Lillian Giandolfo presented her daughter Lisa with 3,000 picture postcards for her 17th birthday. Lisa will mail the first postcard to Mr. & Mrs. Leo Sadowski. Mrs. Marie Sadowski is the founder of Winthrop Civic Assoc., Inc. recently celebrating its 50th Anniversary. The card is that of the statue St. Michiel, Angel of Victory in Winthrop Park (McGoldrick). It reads “Love of pictures is inherent in mankind, thus it is with civic pride I present the first of a series of heritage postcards of the Garden Spot of the World, Greenpoint, USA.” Inspired by Lillian Giandolfo. The photographer is Andrzej Bogusz a young man whose life has been the art of taking pictures since a very young boy. He arrived in our country a little over a year ago and chose to live and work in community, he shares our feeling of pride and shares its Rediscovery.
